In 1857, a steamship carrying a valuable cargo vanishes during a storm. For well over a century, her whereabouts are unknown until one day she is discovered lying beneath the forest of the Nicaraguan jungle.
Sean Mercer, along with NESA (National Environmental Security Agency), is in Nicaragua studying the effects of water pollution that have wreaked havoc on local communities.
What they uncover is more sinister and deadly than just the threat of tainted water. Mass genocide, brutal dictatorship, and a country living in fear of its own leaders is just the beginning of what Sean and his team must put an end to before it’s too late.
When knowledge of a ship with a priceless cache surfaces, two sides struggle to uncover the mystery of how and why the lost ship came to be buried so far from sea, and what exactly it is that lies beneath the dense forest floor.
Now, it’s a race against time to stop the bloodshed, find the ship, and retrieve the valuable cargo before Mercer and NESA become victims themselves.
In 1942, a wartime aircraft is on a bombing mission when it disappears during a violent storm with a large ordnance onboard. The whereabouts of the plane remains shrouded in mystery for over seventy years until it is finally located during an expedition led by a relative of a pilot for the doomed flight.
Sean Mercer and NESA are in Myanmar doing research in an effort to help the coastal region’s coral reefs regain their sustainability when they come across the lifeless body of a doctor floating in the Andaman Sea. Upon researching the incident, they stumble across the sadistic plan of a ruthless businessman who plans to unleash a deadly virus among his own countrymen.
The mission becomes even more complicated when they offer to help a U.S. research team raise the long lost aircraft. With a ferocious monsoon bearing down on them, they must raise the World War Two bomber without detonating the massive payload contained within its hull before the storm makes landfall, all while trying to stop a madman from spreading an infectious disease.
Mercer must put an end to the tyrannical leader’s reign before it’s too late, something which could prove to be his most menacing ordeal yet.
Four Russian submariners wash up on a Florida Beach in 1989, seemingly the survivors of a sunken vessel. The reason for their being in such close proximity to the American shoreline soon becomes evident, as an elderly couple overhears a conversation that leads them to believe there’s much more to the story than just a malfunction at sea. For over thirty years, the fabricated account of the soldiers’ tale remains a mystery.
Sean Mercer and his partner, Pat Vigil, are in Colorado conducting research at Rocky Flats when they inadvertently stumble upon a massive tunnel system lying beneath an old nuclear facility. The discovery leads to questions about an unsolved mystery from decades earlier, but finding the answers they seek could lead them down a path from which they might not return.
Upon ascertaining information about a Russian plot to smuggle a nuclear bomb into the United States, Mercer realizes there may be a link to the current conspiracy and the discovery about the past. The race is on to find the nuclear weapon and bring the madman responsible for the threat to justice, but will time run out before he and his partner can thwart the attempt to detonate a nuclear weapon on U.S. soil?
